Streamer Kaitlyn Siragusa, better known as Amouranth, and her husband are increasing the security of their home after a violent robbery on March 2, 2025. Four suspects – Dylan Nesho Campbell, Bryan Anthony Salazar Guerrero, and two minors aged 16 and 17 – have been charged with severe kidnapping and theft with a deadly weapon, Fox 26 reports.
That evening, armed men broke into Siragusa’s Houston home, held her at gunpoint, and demanded the private keys to her crypto wallet. While she was being assaulted, her husband Nick was in contact via the speakerphone. The robbers forced her to open a crypto app, but he meanwhile grabbed a firearm and followed the situation via security cameras. Siragusa led the attackers under a pretense to another room, where she fled upstairs. Her husband fired three shots, possibly hitting one of the intruders, after which they fled. The police arrived shortly after.
Siragusa revealed on social media in November 2024 that she owned 211 Bitcoin, then worth over $20 million. This openness made her a target. Her husband posted from her account during the incident to ask for help, which was later confirmed. The couple narrowly escaped and are now planning additional security.
The case fits into a worrying trend of crypto-targeted crimes. In January 2025, a British court sentenced seven gang members for the kidnapping and extortion of a crypto investor, who was abused for months. That same month, Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped for ransom in France but was rescued by the police. These incidents show how criminals are increasingly targeting crypto holders, attracted by the anonymity and speed of digital assets.
With four suspects in custody, the investigation continues, while the crypto world reflects on security. Siragusa’s experience underscores the risks of publicly sharing crypto assets. For now, the market remains alert to this growing threat.
